Big News!
July 22, 2010
1) CEREMONY LOCATION
Thanks to our dear friend Susannah, we have a lovely spot for our ceremony. As it is not usually a wedding venue, we have a few requests to make sure the site and community remain undisturbed. We know it’s a lot of info, but please read it carefully. Thanks!
Beth and Jordan’s wedding
5:00 pm July 31, 2010
Open Meadow High School grounds
7654 N. Crawford St.
Portland, OR 97203
(see map)
Gather in front of the school, near the stone wall!
IMPORTANT INFO:
-There will be extremely limited seating for elders and families with babies. Please plan to arrive close to 5 pm and be ready to stand for the duration of the brief ceremony.
-We will be on a slightly uneven grass lawn. Please take care when walking and wear appropriate shoes.
-We have promised to admire the trees and building from a distance. No Tree Climbing! (That means you, Grandpa!)
-There are no bathrooms available on site. Plan accordingly….
PARKING:
-Approved parking zones:
1) the parking lot directly in front of the school
2) the side of Crawford street adjacent to the school (along the stone wall)
-If you cannot find parking there, you will need to park about 3 blocks away, to the east of Willamette Street. Our esteemed parking attendants will assist you.
-We highly encourage carpooling, biking and riding public transit. Contact us if you need help with arranging a ride. (preferably before Sat!)
2) FRIDAY NIGHT PICNIC/POTLUCK
In lieu of a rehearsal dinner, we will be hosting a potluck picnic Friday evening. All are welcome! If you are from out of town, we welcome drinks, snacks, or just your presence!
5:00 pm on
Wilshire Park (see map)
NE Skidmore St. between 33rd and 37th streets. Parking on Skidmore. Our site is roughly in the middle of the park.
3) PERFORMERS/TOASTS
If you are planning on participating in the variety show, please let Beth know ASAP at experiencebeth@gmail.com (including any technical requirements and roughly the amount of time you would like to sign up for). You don’t have to know exactly what you are doing, but we need a sense of how many people we should plan for. Remember- this could include reading a poem, making a toast, singing, dancing, puppet shows, etc and so forth! No act too great or too small!
